On Selection Sunday, it was announced that Pitt earned a No. 9 seed, and they’ll take on No. 9 seed Colorado in the South Region. The No. 1 seed of the bracket is Florida, who will take on either Albany or Mount Saint Marys. No. 5 VCU will play No. 12 Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks, and No. 4 UCLA will play No. 13 Tulsa to complete the top half of the bracket.
In the bottom half, No. 2 Kentucky will take on No. 15 Eastern Kentucky. No. 7 New Mexico will play No. 10 Stanford of the Pac-12. Syracuse, who joined Pitt in the ACC this year, earned a No. 3 seed with its late-season struggles. It’ll take on No. 14 Western Michigan. Wrapping up the bracket will be No. 6 Ohio State, as it’ll take on No. 11 Dayton.
Pitt and Colorado will play on Thursday.
