The Pitt Panthers basketball team has had some success in New York City in the past and by the looks of things, they will be headed back to Madison Square Garden in 2016.
According to a report by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Pitt will participate in the 2016 2K Sports Classic alongside Marquette, Michigan and SMU.
This season’s 2K Sports Classic will be held on Nov. 20 and 22 at Madison Square Garden. The bracket features Duke, Wisconsin, Georgetown and VCU.
As part of the Big East Conference, Pitt has had many special moments at The Garden, including Big East Tournament championships in both 2003 and 2008.
Pitt will also visit MSG this season when it hosts Davidson in the Showcase Round of the fourth annual Gotham Classic on December 20.
