The Pittsburgh Power have been giving their roster a serious makeover this offseason, and the influx of new talent continued this afternoon when the team announced they had acquired star wide receiver Prechae Rodriguez from the Orlando Predators for offensive lineman Ben Ossai and defensive lineman Markell Carter.
In 2012 with the Tampa Bay Storm, Prechae set the Storm single-season franchise record for receptions (125) and amassed 1653 yards and 32 touchdowns. He continued his record setting ways with Orlando last year establishing their franchise record of 41 receiving touchdowns to go with his 1614 receiving yards.
He’s an elite receiver in the AFL with great size (6’4” 215 pounds) and playmaking ability. Pairing him with 2012 1st team all-arena wide receiver Aaron LeSue and the Power now have one of the best 1-2 punches at receiver in the league.
Ossai was acquired earlier this offseason in the trade that sent wide receiver Mike Washington to Spokane. He is a three year veteran AFL lineman who will help shore up the Predators line nicely. Markell Carter is an AFL rookie.
