The Pittsburgh Steelers today signed wide receiver James Shaw from the Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League to an undisclosed deal. He will report to training camp immediately.
Shaw played collegiate ball at Jacksonville State where he recorded 69 catches for 815 yards and eight touchdowns in his career. He was previously signed as an undrafted free agent out of college by the Carolina Panthers and signed onto the practice squad in 2013.
Shaw had 21 receptions for 192 yards and three touchdowns in eight games with the Power this season and also saw time in the past few weeks as a kick returner.
To make room for Shaw, the Steelers released WR Danny Coale.
