NFC Championship – San Francisco 49ers @ Atlanta Falcons – Sunday January 20th 3:00 p.m. ET
Matt Ryan finally got a playoff victory and Colin Kaepernick set an NFL record. Now these two will face off in the NFC Championship game. The 49ers seem to be clicking on all cylinders after beating the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round, while the Falcons struggled to close out their game against the red hot Seahawks. If Atlanta wants to advance to the big show, they’re going to have to keep Kaepernick in check and for the entire game. One big positive for them going into the game though, was that their run game was working well. San Francisco had the 3rd best rushing defense this season so they’ll be looking to do a better job than Seattle did. It’s going to be a good game, watching Atlanta’s backs work against that linebacker core of the 49ers.
Prediction: Atlanta wins, 28-24
AFC Championship – Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots – Sunday January 20th 6:00 p.m. ET
Tom Brady lit up the stat sheet once again against the Houston Texans. Brady hasn’t fared well against Baltimore’s defense, especially in the playoffs. Baltimore is coming in with high hopes after knocking off the number one seed in the AFC and their defense is playing behind a very emotional and spirited Ray Lewis who wants to end his career on top, capping it off with his second Super Bowl win. Joe Flacco is coming off a 300 yard passing performance he hopes to repeat that type of game against a struggling Patriots secondary. The matchup to watch in this game will be between the quarterbacks and the opposing secondary of each squad.
Prediction: New England wins, 31-21
