Slippery Rock used two scores in the third quarter in a back-and-forth game to beat Gannon in a showdown for the PSAC West’s top spot. In a game of the top offenses and defenses in the conference, SRU gained just 380 despite getting the win. Gannon gained 519 yards but just ran out of time.

The Mercyhurst defense came to play and shutout Clarion, 28-0, for the first blanking by the Lakers since 2010. Clarion gained just 191 yards on offense including just 78 rushing yards. Mercyhurst was led by Brendan Boylan’s three-touchdown performance.
