After starting the season with games aplenty, finals weeks around the PSAC West bring some much needed time off for teams to study and get practice in.
With that, three of our PSAC West teams were in action this past week – Slippery Rock, Gannon and Clarion.
Slippery Rock picked up an 80-41 wallop over Penn State New Kennsington. Mauric Lewis-Bridges led the way with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Tabari Perry posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Gannon went 1-1 in back-to-back days this past week. The first game came as an 85-75 loss to Shepherd. A’Darius Porter had 15 points in the loss. Four other Gannon players scored in double figures. In the win, an 81-51 defeat of Barton, Adam Blazek had 24 points to go with Tee Talley’s 20-point, 11-rebound performance.
Closing out the week was Clarion, which beat Penn State-Beaver, 95-88 Sunday. DeMarius Miller scored 42 points and pulled in 8 rebounds. That was complimented by Darius Stevens’ 19-point, 11-rebound game. Mike Kromka was two points shy of a double-double, scoring 8 points but pulling down 17 boards. Miller’s 42 points were the fifth-most in school history.
With finals over, a full slate of games is on tap for this week.
