Edinboro 36, #22 IUP 30
Behind a strong defense and the arm of redshirt-freshman quarterback Jon Grivin, the Fighting Scots pulled off an upset over IUP Saturday, 36-30.
Girvin threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Defensively, Edinboro forced five turnovers and returned a blocked punt for a touchdown to smother the Crimson Hawks. Edinboro was up 36-20 in the fourth quarter, but a late score and field goal brought IUP within six. Edinboro’s defense would hold, though, as Delano Fabor picked off Mike Box to seal the game.
Edinboro will host Slippery Rock next week at noon and IUP will travel to Mercyhurst and play at noon.
Cal U 33, Seton Hill 7

Shamar Greene ran for 131 yards and and a touchdown while Teddy Blakeman had two scores on the ground for The Rock.
Clarion’s defense was able to get after quarterback Nigel Barksdael as they forced two interceptions, but Rock’s ground game proved to be too much as they ran for 217 yards.
Clarion’s Bobby Thomas ran for just 70 yards in the losing effort and provided both scores.
Slippery Rock will travel to Edinboro and Clarion will host Seton Hill next week at noon.
Mercyhurst 51, Gannon 21

Mercyhurts racked up 621 total yards on the night, with 407 being on the ground. Brandon Brown-Dukes set a new career best after gaining 221 yards and two touchdowns in the contest.
The Lakers’ defense was able to hold Gannon running back Jansen Jones under 100 yards and held him scoreless all night. Even though Nadler threw for 289 yards and two scores, the Mercyhurst offense was just too strong.
