Since the 2015 season came to an end, it was widely thought that the Pittsburgh Steelers would do whatever it took to retain one of its two free agent offensive linemen.
That guy turned out to be guard Ramon Foster as according to numerous sources, Foster and the Steelers agreed to a three-deal deal, keeping the veteran in black and gold.
With Maurkice Pouncey often injured, Foster has become the leader of the Steelers offensive line, which has been much improved in recent years.
Foster’s signing means the Steelers would have four of their five starters on the offensive line under contract. It also means that the team is unlikely to sign unrestricted free agent Kelvin Beachum.
Foster has started 87 games with the Steelers. He had a good season in 2015 and played every snap at left guard on an offensive line that ranked top 10 in rushing and top five in passing.
“Let’s make more memories,” Foster wrote on his Instagram page alongside a collage of Steelers-related photos.
