The Penn State offense will look very different in 2016, as linebacker Troy Reeder and running back Akeel Lynch announced this week that they would transfer and finish their eligibility at different institutions.
Reeder announced on Tuesday that he would transfer to the University of Delaware. He has three years of eligibility remaining, and attributes his decision to the chance to play alongside of his brother, who verbally committed to the Blue Hens last week. Reeder, a Wilmington native, also expressed a desire to play in front of a home crowd.
Reeder, a redshirt freshman, started every game of the 2015 season except his first and last due to a leg injury, and was set to be a “Linebacker U” graduate.
Thank you Penn State. Truly a special place, but I couldn’t be happier to say I’m home! pic.twitter.com/G7v7iUELpL

Lynch announced on Wednesday afternoon via Twitter his intent to transfer.
Lynch will graduate in the spring, but retains one year of eligibility. He averaged just 25.6 yards per game in 2015 with the arrival of freshman standout Saquon Barkley. He had only 55 carries, down from 147 in 2014. His transfer was predicted after Miles Sanders committed to Penn State.
It is believed that he will pursue a graduate degree that Penn State does not offer, but has not announced where he will play yet. Lynch is the fourth Nittany Lions to announce his transfer this week.
