According to Tim Williams of Pirates Prospects and Chris Cotillo of SB Nation, Gregory Polanco will be called up by the Pittsburgh Pirates from AAA Indianapolis this Friday, in time for an important series against the division-leading Milwaukee Brewers.
Polanco currently has a .357/.410/.547 slash line and is slated to play right field for the Pirates upon his call-up. The team has not officially announced any move and it is unclear who the team’s top prospect would replace on the current roster.
UPDATE: According to Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a “high-ranking official” within the organization has denied earlier reports that Polanco will play in Pittsburgh on Friday.
