Pittsburgh Riverhounds midfielder Rob Vincent was named United Soccer League player of the week on Tuesday.
Vincent scored a brace in the Hounds’ dramatic 6-5 come-from-behind victory over the Harrisburg City Islanders in their Keystone Derby match at Highmark Stadium on Saturday.
Vicnent got Pittsburgh on the board with a 48th minute redirect of a Lebo Moloto cross and then scored the game-tying goal on a free kick in stoppage time when Moloto played it his way instead of towards Kevin Kerr, who had lined up to take the kick.
It’s the first time that Vincent, a 24-year old native of Liverpool, England, has earned player of the week honors. He is in his third season with the Riverhounds. Vincent leads all USL players with eight goals and 20 points on the season.

El Capitan: Hounds captain Danny Earls also had two goals on Saturday and joins Vincent on the USL’s team of the week. Earls now has three goals on the season from his defensive midfield position.
Movin’ on up: The Riverhounds [4-3-3] have moved up the start time of Saturday’s USL match against Saint Louis FC [3-3-3] to 1:00 p.m. The move was made to avoid conflict with the final of the UEFA Champions League.
The team will be showing the Champions League match between Barcelona and Juventus in the stadium bar following the final whistle between Pittsburgh and Saint Louis.
