Trade Ben Roethlisberger? Roethlisberger isn’t elite? Time to throw in the towel on the season, right?
All of the above have been thrown around in the past few weeks regarding Roethlisberger and the Steelers season, but for the third consecutive game, the Steelers and their quarterback showed that they aren’t going anywhere.
With the win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, the Steelers improved to 5-6 on the season, and are one of a plethora of teams in the hunt for the final AFC playoff spot.
Leading the charge for the Steelers has been Roethlisberger. Since the reports surfaced from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network saying that Roethlisberger would ask for a trade in the offseason, the Miami of Ohio alum has done his best to dispel those rumors, and his play has backed that up.
With his effort in the past week against the Detroit Lions and the Browns, Roethlisberger earns our Steeler of the Week Award.
Against the Lions, Roethlisberger threw for 367 yards and four touchdowns. Against the Browns on a cold, windy day, Roethlisberger threw for two scores and 217 yards.
