Chuck Noll, who was responsible for leading the Steelers to four Super Bowl titles, has passed away on Friday night at his home in Sewickley, according to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Noll was 82, and has been under the care of doctors. Noll was pronounced dead at 9:55 p.m.
Noll spent 23 seasons on the sidelines as the coach of the Steelers, and he is responsible for turning the Steelers franchise around, as well as introducing the “Steel Curtain” to the masses. Noll had a career record of 209-156-1 as a coach for Pittsburgh, leading the Steelers to Super Bowl titles in 1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979.
Noll is survived by his wife, Marianne, as well as his son Chris and grandchildren.
