Once again proving that age is just a number — and that the Pittsburgh Steelers have found the fountain of youth — 33-year-old Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
In Pittsburgh’s Week 1 win over Washington, Williams rushed for 143 yards and had two touchdowns. He also had six catches for 28 yards. (You’re welcome, fantasy owners.)

In the game against Washington, Williams became the oldest player to rush for 100 yards and two touchdowns in a game since another running back did it in a 2005 game against the Chicago Bears. That running back? Jerome Bettis.

The Steelers picked up Williams last offseason after he was released by the Carolina Panthers and was a revelation for Pittsburgh fans. In 2015, he had 907 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.
It turned out to be fortuitous for Pittsburgh because running back Le’Veon Bell missed the first two games of the season due to a drug-related suspension and was injured late in the season. Bell will miss the first three games of the 2016 season.
