The Pittsburgh Steelers got a jump start on the offseason on Tuesday, extending the contracts of a pair along with signing 10 players to Reserve/Future contracts.
Center/guard Chris Hubbard and fullback Roosevelt Nix were signed to one-year contract extensions. Financial terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
Hubbard has appeared in eight regular season games for the Steelers the past two seasons after spending the 2013 season on the practice squad.
Nix was signed to a Reserve/Future contract last January, but not only made the roster, but made three starts this season. Overall Nix appeared in 15 games, recording eight tackles and forcing a fumble while on special teams. The Kent State product also caught a pair of passes for 16 yards.
Signed to Reserve/Future contracts are S Jordan Dangerfield, OT Matt Feiler, C/G B.J Finney, DB Isaiah Frey, TE Xavier Grimble, DE Cashaud Lyons, RB Rajion Neal, WR Shakim Phillips, RB Abou Toure and S Ray Vinopal. Nine of those spent time on the practice squad.
Vinopal is a Pitt graduate. he signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent prior to the season, but was released when before the season started.
