As free agency continues, the Pittsburgh Steelers look to be interested in bolstering its depth on the defensive line.
According to sources, including ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers have a lot of interest in free agent defensive end Jason Jones.
Jones started 15 games for Detroit last season, recording 4.5 sacks.
He is a natural 4-3 defensive end who is primarily effective as an edge rusher.
Jones stands 6-foot-5, 275-pounds and could play some defensive tackle as well, which is an area the Steelers are very thin with only Dan McCullers and Caushaud Lyons currently on the roster.
While the Steelers are certainly intrigued by Jones’ size and versatility, it remains to be seen if they are players for Jones as he should earn more money than the Steelers likely will be able to shell out, especially after signing Ladarius Green.
