Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger may be the most unconventional quarterback in the NFL according to ESPN’s Ron Jaworski, but at the end of the day all he does is win.
In his career Big Ben has won 69 percent of his starts including the playoffs.
That alone was good enough for Jaworski to rank Roethlisberger at No. 7 on his current countdown of the starting quarterbacks in the league.
Jaworski had some very kind things to say about Roethlisberger, which included him calling him elite, having the ability to beat the defense even when the defense wins and also noted that he has the ability to make all of the throws that a quarterback has to.
Roethlisberger continues to show why he is among the elite. The 10-year vet can still beat defense both out of the pocket as well as in the pocket and possess the physical attributes that most signal callers simply don’t have.
Even though the Steelers finished a disappointing 8-8 last season, fans saw once again just how important Roethlisberger is to this franchise as Big Ben was playing at an MVP-level before being injured and the season practically fell apart once he got banged up.
Even though he is still playing at a high level, Roethlisberger fell one spot in Jaworski’s rankings as he came in at No. 6 a season ago.
This year Roethlisberger ranks one spot ahead of the New York Giants’ Eli Manning and just behind the likes of: Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Joe Flacco, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.
The order of the top six quarterbacks will be unveiled on upcoming episodes of SportsCenter.
