While the Pittsburgh Steelers organization is surrounded in drama concerning their head of security, the front office was busy on Friday locking up their punter.
The Steelers and punter Brad Wing agreed to a one-year contract extension. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Wing punted 61 times on the season with a 43.7 yards per kick average.
Twenty of those attempts landed inside the opponents’ 20-yard line.
Wing had some good moments as a rookie, but also uncorked a pair of terrible punts in big moments late in games that helped lead to a couple of Steelers losses.
Overall though Wing had a lot more positive moments than negative ones.
His 43.7 average ranked fifth among rookie punters in team history.
