The Pittsburgh Steelers have been busy locking up their draft picks from the 2015 NFL Draft.
The latest to ink a contract is second-round pick Senquez Golson.
Golson, the No. 56 overall pick out of Mississippi, signed a four-deal deal and could be expected to play a big role right off the bat in a very thin Steelers secondary.
He is small at 5-foot-9, 176 pounds, but is coming off a big collegiate season in which Golson showed he has the ability to be a playmaker.
Golson started 33-of-49 games and recorded 136 tackles and 16 interceptions. Those 16 picks led all draft eligible players.
Last season Golson led the SEC with 10 interceptions and was an All-American.
His size could make it tough for Golson to play on the outside, but he could still be a playmaker in the slot. Some big plays would be welcomed given the fact that the Steelers defense intercepted only 11 passes last season, which tied them for 25th in the league. Sadly that was an improvement over the 2013 campaign in which the Steelers defense intercepted only 10 passes all season long, ranking them near the bottom of the league.
The Steelers have now signed four of their eight draft picks.
In addition to Golson, fourth-round pick Doran Grant and sixth-round selections Anthony Chickillo and L.T. Walton have already signed their rookie contracts.
