On a wild final day of the NFL regular season, the Pittsburgh Steelers earned a hard-fought playoff spot thanks to a win in Cleveland coupled with a Buffalo Bills win over the New York Jets. Although the Steelers knew they would be in the playoffs as the late games began, they would have to anxiously wait for those games results before they would know their first-round opponent.
With games were complete, the Steelers now know they will head to Cincinnati for their third match up of the season with the Bengals. This time is will be for a chance to advance to the AFC Divisional round and take another step towards Super Bowl 50.
The Steelers will face the third seed Bengals after the Denver Broncos sealed up the first seed thanks to a 27-20 win over the San Diego Chargers. The Broncos were able to leap frog New England for the top seed after the Miami Dolphins upset the Patriots 20-10 in their home finale.
Houston won the AFC South with nine wins after blowing out the Jacksonville Jaguars and will be the fourth seed. The Kansas City Chiefs set a franchise record today with their tenth straight win and will travel to Houston as the fifth seed.
All playoff teams that are set to play in the Wild Card rounds will find out whether they will play on Saturday or Sunday later this evening.
