The Pitt Panthers (19-10, 8-7) defeated the Boston College Eagles (9-18, 1-14) 71-65 Tuesday night at the Peterson Events Center in Pittsburgh. Sophomore forward Jamel Artis scored 24 points for Pitt. Coming off a very disappointing start to the ACC season on Saturday, the Pitt Panthers had to come out of Boston College with a win at all cost. Thanks to Josh Newkirk the Panthers rallied in the second half to force overtime and eventually came away with a 61-60 victory, their first conference win of the season. Penn State (6-6) will play Boston College (7-5) in the Pinstripe Bowl on December 27 in New York City at Yankee Stadium. The kickoff is set for 4:30 in the afternoon and will be broadcasted on the ESPN family of networks.
