On Instagram, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward announced he's out for the remainder of the 2016 season with a pectoral injury. He wrote: “I would like to thank everyone who has been in my corner this season. It pains me to say that I will not get to continue playing this season. My role will change as I can not play but it will not change the goals the team has set out. My support for this team will only grow and I look forward in watching this team grow and fight on. Three up, three down: Steelers vs. Cowboys
What a game. And what a loss. The Pittsburgh Steelers (4-5) almost held on to beat the Dallas Cowboys (8-1) but ending up falling, 35-30, on a last-second touchdown run by Ezekiel Elliott. Here's this week’s edition of “Three up, three down.” Three up: Roethlisberger shines at Heinz Field— Well, you certainly can't blame the crushing loss to the Cowboys on the Steelers' franchise signal caller. Once again, Ben Roethlisberger put up massive numbers at home, tallying 408 yards through the air ... Read More
Sloppy Steelers fall to Ravens, 21-14
Well, that was ugly. In Ben Roethlisberger’s first game back from a left knee injury (just 21 days after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus), the Pittsburgh Steelers’ high-powered offense failed to click, and the Steelers (4-4) fell to the Baltimore Ravens (4-4), 21-14. With the win, the Ravens take over the top spot in the AFC North. Roethlisberger is now 2-6 in his first game back from injury. During the week, a lot of attention was focused on Roethlisberger’s injury and ... Read More
Three up, three down: Steelers vs. Patriots
Coming into Sunday's game, the Pittsburgh Steelers knew they had an uphill climb as a rare home underdog against the New England Patriots. Considering the Steelers had the daunting challenge of facing arguably the best team in the NFL without their franchise quarterback, their best defensive player and a number of other key contributors, it'd be fair to say expectations were tempered for Steeler Nation. Although Pittsburgh kept the contest close, backup quarterback Landry Jones was unable to ... Read More
Steelers’ lack of pass rush must change vs. Eagles
The Pittsburgh Steelers may have a 2-0 record for the first time since 2010, but there's an aspect of their game that's severely lacking: the Steelers have just one sack of an opposing quarterback thus far. While they had some good chances in their games against Washington and the Cincinnati Bengals — Washington QB Kirk Cousins was sacked twice against the Dallas Cowboys and Bengals QB Andy Dalton was sacked seven times against the New York Jets — the pressure from Pittsburgh's defensive ... Steelers select 2016 captains
The Pittsburgh Steelers have named their four team captains for the 2016-2017 NFL season. The team took a vote and, for the second year in a row, named Ben Roethlisberger, Cameron Heyward, William Gay and Robert Golden as the captains. Roethlisberger is the lone offensive captain, and Golden is the lone special teams captain, while Gay and Heyward both share the defensive captain role. Roethlisberger has been a captain for the Steelers eight times. He was elected captain in 2008 and 2009 ... Read More
Cam Heyward and Stephon Tuitt adding a new element to the Steelers defense
When the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense is clicking and playing in the dominant fashion fans have become accustomed to over the years, it normally goes back one thing first and foremost; pressuring the quarterback. For all the talk about poor secondary play last season, a strong case could be made that the unit's 33 sacks, lowest total for the franchise since 1988, was the primary culprit for a less than stellar year from the defense. After years of watching the likes of Joey Porter, Jason ... Read More

He’s played in every game for the team since then and has started 29 of the team’s 32 regular-season games over the past two seasons. He also started in the team’s playoff game against ... Read More
