The ACC Football Kickoff Preseason Poll was released recently. The poll gathers ballets of 191 media members voting on the ACC Championship, Divisional Champions and ACC Player of the Year titles. Robert Morris’ offense disappears in loss against Duquesne
The Robert Morris Colonials (2-5) hosted their inner city rivals, the Duquesne Dukes (5-3), but would end up on the losing side of the fence as they struggled offensively. Bobby Mo was able to keep the team within reach with only one touchdown for most of the game, however, Duquesne struck early in the fourth quarter leaving with a 16-7 win. PIAA votes in favor of six-class structure
High school athletics in Pennsylvania will have a brand new look next fall as a new classification system for the 2016-17 academic year was voted upon and passed. The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association board of directors voted to expand classifications in football to six from four which it is at for 2015-16 academic year. After a disappointing first two weeks Robert Morris (1-2) was finally able to get its first win of the season. Notre Dame College (1-2) came into the packed Joe Walton Stadium in Moon Township looking to spoil the Colonials’ homecoming weekend. Robert Morris drops season opener to Dayton
This afternoon Robert Morris hosted the Dayton Flyers, a team that has had the Colonials’ number for years. The newly energized hosts would end up losing in controversy with a final score of 27-24. True freshman Matt Barr made his collegiate debut, showing off both an accurate arm and quick feet. Finishing with 14 completions on 34 attempts, Barr threw for 156 yards and one touchdown. Robert Morris ready to shake up NEC after down season
In recent years, Robert Morris football has hit a bit of a snag. Going an abysmal 1-10 last season, second-year coach John Banaszak looks to continue coaching up the young Colonial players.
