IUP’s men’s basketball team seemed to do everything right Tuesday night in their quarterfinal matchup. The Crimson Hawks dominated with a balanced scoring attack on offense, and slowed down the red hot three-point shooting of Pitt-Johnstown to win 77-66. College football is upon us and members of the PSAC West are ready to get things kicked off this week. The shape of this season for PSAC West teams begins up front with two elite squads in Gannon and Slippery Rock. Indiana University of Pennsylvania is looking to win its 10th PSAC title on Sunday after the Crimson Hawks cruised to victory over East Stroudsburg 76-60 in its semifinal battle on Saturday. In the win, IUP shot 69 percent in the second half, led by Shawn Dyer's game-high 20 points. Four Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division NCAA Division-II men’s basketball teams are ranked in the latest Atlantic Region top ten. Sitting at the top of the rankings are 22-2 West Liberty (Wv) and 17-8 Fairmont (Wv) State from the Mountain East Conference, which are then followed by four straight PSAC schools. Former IUP head coach Frank Cignetti can now add "Hall of Famer" to his list of career achievements. Cignetti is ranked as the winningest coach in IUP history.
