It was beautiful day at Latrobe yesterday as the rain (for the most part) held off, and the Steelers continued to prepare for their first pre-season game of the 2014 season. Steelers Sign RB LeGarrette Blount
The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the process of finalizing a two-year contract with free agent RB LeGarrette Blount. Blount will come in to Pittsburgh and immediately be the primary backup to starter Le’Veon Bell. Blount will also be used as the Steelers primary short-yardage and goal-line running back. Steelers Cut Rainey After Arrest; Running Back Needs Addressed in the 2013 NFL Draft
Following his arrest Chris Rainey, the Steelers 2012 fifth round pick, was released from the team. This incident (read more here) is Rainey’s second issue with domestic violence. During his time at Florida, Rainey was arrested for texting his girlfriend “time to die.” This time around Rainey was arrested for allegedly slapping his girlfriend in the face and then wrestling her to the ground over a cell phone.
