The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced the release of veteran tight end Matt Spaeth. The team announced the news early Thursday afternoon. In addition to re-signing outside linebacker Arthur Moats and releasing longtime defensive end Brett Keisel, the Pittsburgh Steelers made a number of minor moves on Monday. First, they re-signed veteran tight end Matt Spaeth to a two-year contract. Spaeth, 31, would have become an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday. It was beautiful day at Latrobe yesterday as the rain (for the most part) held off, and the Steelers continued to prepare for their first pre-season game of the 2014 season.
