Shippensburg’s historic season ended Saturday with a 37-14 loss to power house and No. 2 ranked Winston-Salem State. The Raiders’ day seemed like it was going to be a long one when the Ram’s first drive was a three-play 70-yard strike that happened before you even realized the game had started. Shippensburg’s offense couldn’t respond, but their defense did the next time the Rams had the ball. Brian Sourber intercepted a pass and ran it back 63 yards, and suddenly Shippensburg was only down by ... Read More

Shippensburg and big numbers becoming a trend
The PSAC should be recognized as a whole. Locally, we are fortunate to watch a couple of D2 power houses in IUP and California U. The successes of the previously mentioned programs are clear, but it might be what’s going on 170 miles east of Pittsburgh that should be grabbing our PSAC attention. Zach Zulli, Jake Metz, and the rest of the Shippensburg Raiders are experiencing obvious personal successes but it’s their undefeated 7-0 record that is most impressive. Zulli, has been fantastic ... PSAC teams look to prove why they are worthy of D2 Rankings
It’s that time of year where separation is created in college football. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference is no different. This weekend’s slate of games could go far in determining who is a legitimate 2012 championship contender. Both California University (PA) and IUP have pedigrees that make it understandable of their D2 Top 20 Rankings, but it’s Bloomsburg and Shippensburg who might be here to steal the show. Four PSAC schools crowd the NCAA Division II weekly rankings. What this ... Read More
Waynesburg improves to 2-0 with win over Frostburg State
WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 8) – Going into Saturday’s home opener against Frostburg State, the Waynesburg University defense knew it was facing an offense that could put up points in bunches. That was proven in week one, when the Bobcats took a very entertaining 56-53 decision from Geneva College. However, FSU found the sledding a lot more difficult at John F. Wiley Stadium as Waynesburg held its opponent to just seven points on the day and methodically pounded away with its run game to score a ... Read More
