Heading into the 2014 season, the secondary looked to be the Pitt Panthers biggest weakness. And despite starting the season 3-0, there were still many questions about whether or not the Panthers’ defensive backs could play good enough football to beat quality teams. We got that answer during Saturday’s tough loss to Iowa and going forward, Pitt’s secondary could be what prevents Paul Chryst’s team from having a big season. Everything went right against Delaware, but even during the ... Read More

James Conner playing defense should be scrapped by Pitt
Pitt Panthers running back James Conner has certainly been the talk of the town after helping lead the Panthers to a 2-0 start, rushing for 372 yards (second in the nation) and five touchdowns on a mere 50 attempts to start the season. If you are scoring at home, that’s a 7.3 yards per carry average and an average of 183.5 yards per game, one of the top marks in all of college football. However the question on everyone’s mind is when will we see Conner play on defense? That answer ... Read More

Rowell, a junior, has started 15 games in row and made all the line calls for the Panthers. He was hurt Friday in the victory against Boston College and was replaced by sophomore Gabe Roberts. Chryst didn’t sound optimistic after the game about Rowell, who left on crutches and the ... Read More

James Conner feels the time is Now for Pitt
If you are around Paul Chryst’s Pitt Panthers football team, there is something different about the Panthers this season. While Pitt is one of the youngest teams in the entire nation, there is a certain confidence in that locker room right now that hasn’t been seen nor felt in the past few years. None of that has to really do with their 62-0 rout of Delaware to open the season. While that was certainly a nice way to start the season, this Panthers team has bigger goals in mind for the 2014 ... Read More

But they beat a decent team and are still the ACC’s most talented team. Up Next: Saturday vs. the ... Read More
