Naturally it was the hero of Saturday’s game, placekicker Chris Blewitt who earned the honor, being named Atlantic Coast Conference’s Specialist of the Week. Larry Fitzgerald. Antonio Bryant. Jonathan Baldwin. Devin Street. Throughout the past few seasons, the Pitt Panthers have produced some quality wide receivers. Yet none of them have done what Tyler Boyd has done in a Pitt uniform. Boyd has been a special player since he set put a Pitt jersey on just a little over two years ago. Saturday against Georgia Tech, Boyd became the most prolific pass catcher in Panther’s history. In the third quarter, Boyd hauled in a pass from ... Read More

Pitt is starting to buy into what Pat Narduzzi is selling
If you were watching Pitt's victory over Virginia on Saturday at Heinz Field, you probably had similar reactions to what I did. Leading 26-13 in the fourth quarter, the Panthers defense watched Virginia quarterback Matt Johns connect on a 32-yard touchdown pass to make it a one possession game. Then predictably the Panthers had to punt the ball back to the Cavaliers, who had the ball with a chance to tie the football game late in the fourth quarter. I for one found myself saying in the ...
