The Power have been somewhat quiet when it comes to AFL free agency, but they have added a few solid pieces to the core of the 2013 roster. Five year AFL veteran Neil Purvis will return for his third season with the Power. The 6’2” Defensive lineman from Virginia State should provide a solid pass rush up front. The Pittsburgh Power have used the exclusive free agency period to sign two players to the 2013 roster from last year’s squad. Wide receiver Mike “The Joystick” Washington will return for his third season in the AFL, all for the Pittsburgh Power. The local Aliquippa native has been very consistent for the Power during his career, notching 114 receptions for 1,367 yards and 30 touchdowns in 2011 and 115 receptions for 1,484 yards and 34 touchdowns in 2012. The Pittsburgh Power played their final game of the 2012 season on July 20, losing 39-64 to the Jacksonville Sharks, finishing the season with a 5-13 record.
