The Pittsburgh Steelers made a significant addition to their depleted wide receiver depth chart today, signing 30-year old WR Lance Moore to a two-year deal. Financial terms have not been immediately disclosed. Moore was released by the New Orleans Saints after spending eight seasons with the team. He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo in 2006, and was due to make $3.8 million in 2014 before becoming a salary cap causality. Moore caught 37 passes for 457 yards and two ... Steelers can be forced to go on HBO Hard Knocks
Hard Knocks is the annual show that airs on HBO where camera crews follow the team around during their training camps. In recent years, we have seen teams such as the Bengals, Dolphins, Jets, Cowboys, etc. get the spotlight, and since the Jets were given the stage in 2010, the show hasn't been all that great. This year, the Steelers are one of the eight teams in the league who can be forced by the NFL to be on the show. I know it sounds odd that a team can be "forced" onto the show, but there ... Steelers reportedly interview Mike Munchak for O-Line job
After firing offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr. shortly after the season ended, the Pittsburgh Steelers have yet to fill that void, but reportedly have their targets set on a big name. According to Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports, former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak reportedly met with the Steelers on Friday about becoming their offensive line coach. The interest in Munchak makes a lot of sense for both parties as Munchak was a successful line coach with the Houston Oilers ... Read More
Steelers season-ending Report Card
The 2013 season was a roller coaster ride for the Pittsburgh Steelers to say the least. An 0-4 start to the season dug Mike Tomlin's team a huge hole and after a blowout loss to the New England patriots left the Steelers at 2-6, they were all but left for dead. However a 6-2 finish to the season restored some pride in this team as they came very close to returning to the postseason. But at the end of the day, this is a team that has finished 8-8 for the second consecutive season, missing the ... Read More
Steelers Week 16 Report Card
If anything, the Pittsburgh Steelers sure make things interesting. After a thrilling 38-31 win in the snow over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, the once 0-4 Steelers still have their playoff hopes alive as they head into a Week 17 home matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Troy Polamalu's forced fumble set up Le'Veon Bell's one-yard touchdown run with 1:28 left, then Pittsburgh withstood Green Bay's last throw into the end zone and dealt the Packers' playoff hopes a blow ... Steelers Week 15 Report Card
It took 15 weeks of the NFL season, but the Pittsburgh Steelers finally put together a complete effort in Sunday night's 30-20 victory over division rival Cincinnati Bengals. That was the case for the first half at least as the Steelers resembled a dominant team that forced mistakes and took advantage of them when they happened. While in the grand scheme of things their performance may have been a case of "too little, too late," in terms of their playoff chances, it was nice to see the ... Read More
Steelers Week 13 Report Card
The Pittsburgh Steelers rally Thanksgiving night fell short in their 22-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens and as a result the playoff odds took a serious hit. The Steelers didn't make enough plays early on and dug themselves too big of a hole in what turned out to be the usual hard-hitting matchup between the two AFC North rivals. With that being said, let's take a look at how the Steelers graded out at each position in my weekly report card. Quarterbacks: Ben Roethlisberger played well enough ... Read More
Steelers Week 12 Report Card
The Pittsburgh Steelers made it three consecutive wins Sunday after their 27-11 victory over the Cleveland Browns, firmly placing themselves in the thick of the AFC Wild Card race. There were a lot of good things to like on both sides of the ball Sunday. With that being said, let's take a look at how the Steelers graded out at each ... Read More
Steelers Week 11 Report Card
Even though they looked all but dead at halftime, the Pittsburgh Steelers managed to find a way to hang onto their slim playoff hopes with an improbable 37-27 comeback victory over the NFC North leading Detroit Lions. Ranking the 5 Worst Steelers seasons of the past 20 years
Despite their win Sunday afternoon against the Buffalo Bills last Sunday, the 2013 season has been one of the most disappointing seasons in recent memory for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But for a team that prides themselves on wins, you have to wonder is this as low as it gets for the black-and-gold. If the trend continues, the 2013 team will mark only the sixth Steelers team in the past 20 years not to finish above .500. But while this current team is certainly one of the Steelers worst in ...
