The Robert Morris University’s women’s basketball team didn't last long in the women’s NCAA Tournament. The No. 16 seed Colonials were defeated in the tournament by the No. 1 seed Notre Dame University Fighting Irish by a final score of 79-49. The Robert Morris Colonials (2-5) hosted their inner city rivals, the Duquesne Dukes (5-3), but would end up on the losing side of the fence as they struggled offensively. Bobby Mo was able to keep the team within reach with only one touchdown for most of the game, however, Duquesne struck early in the fourth quarter leaving with a 16-7 win. This afternoon Robert Morris hosted the Dayton Flyers, a team that has had the Colonials’ number for years. The newly energized hosts would end up losing in controversy with a final score of 27-24. True freshman Matt Barr made his collegiate debut, showing off both an accurate arm and quick feet. Finishing with 14 completions on 34 attempts, Barr threw for 156 yards and one touchdown. The Duquesne Dukes look good on paper for the upcoming 2015 season and the rest of the Northeast Conference has taken notice.
