Jamel Artis lifts Pitt to win over Syracuse
Often this season it has seemed that the Pitt Panthers go as Jamel Artis goes. On Saturday at Syracuse Artis was very good and so were the Panthers. Artis finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds as the Panthers defeated the Orange 66-52 Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome, keeping their NCAA Tournament hopes alive. Needing a big win to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive, the Pitt Panthers needed to go into a building they are very familiar with and defeat a former Big East Conference rival they defeated just two weeks prior.
