For this edition of The Yinzer of the Week, the award goes to Duquesne University senior running back Larry McCoy. McCoy was the leading rusher for the Dukes in their last-minute win over Saint Francis. With the win, the Dukes have now won four games in a row.
McCoy rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns as well as four receptions for 28 yards. McCoy was able to help chip away 6:22 off the clock in the fourth quarter as he rushed eight times for 48 yards on the 13-play drive. With his performance on the field, McCoy became the second rusher in Duquesne history to go over 4,000 yards in his career.
With another 100-yard game on the ledger, McCoy now has 23 100-yard games in his career, a school record. On the year, McCoy has 645 yards rushing, tops in the Northeast Conference, and nine touchdowns in five games on the season.
