The Arena Football League released their all-arena team selections for the 2014 season this week and three Pittsburgh Power players were honored for their fantastic seasons. Center Antonio Narcisse was named to the first team at center and Colin Madison (offensive line) and Julian Rauch (kicker) earned second team nods.
Narcisse, a six year AFL veteran, and Madison (second year) helped anchor a Power offensive line that only allowed 13 sacks all season, third best in the AFL. Their protection up front allowed the Power to have the third most productive offense in the AFL this year.
Julian Rauch enjoyed a strong sophomore season by improving in all phases of the kicking game and was called upon to make numerous clutch kicks all season for the Power. Rauch finished the year a perfect 5 five for five on field goals and was 126 of 142 on his PAT’s this year, good for an 89% success rate.
The last Pittsburgh Power player to be named to an all-arena team was kick returner P.J. Berry in 2012 when he was chosen for the first team. The team had no players honored in 2011 or 2013. No Power defensive players were chosen for all-arena honors this year.
