Jamie Dixon's Pitt Panthers are set to begin their second season of play in the ACC and according to many of the writers covering the conference, the Panthers will be just an average team in 2015. The first Coaches Poll of the 2014-15 college basketball was released on Thursday and while there was a bit of a Pittsburgh flavor to it, the Top 25 is without the Pitt Panthers. Pitt comes in under the “Others Receiving Votes” category, where they received 36 votes, the fourth highest among teams that didn’t crack the Top 25. Pitt’s Cameron Wright out 10 weeks after foot surgery
Basketball season hasn't officially started yet for the Pitt Panthers, but Jamie Dixon's squad will have to begin preparation for the 2014-15 season short one man. Senior guard Cameron Wright, who averaged 10.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game last season, broke his left foot Thursday and had to have surgery Friday.
