Duquesne improved to 7-5 Thursday night with a runaway 79-55 victory over Appalachia State (4-9). The victory was Duquesne’s fourth in a row and marks the longest win streak since the 2010-2011 season, when the Dukes won 11 straight games under coach Everhart. For a while Jamie Dixon’s Pitt Panthers basketball team experienced a bit of a holiday hangover, going 10 days in between games. The PSAC West is done for 2013. As they advance into the 2014 portion of the season, some teams will be focusing on the postseason while some will be looking to salvage a slow start. Duquesne recorded its third straight win, in the last of a string of holiday road games, 88-69 over Texas Pan-American.
