We are less than 24 hours away from the 2013 NFL Draft, so it’s time to unleash my final mock draft of the year. I expect there to be a lot of movement in Thursday’s first round, so this draft could go haywire very quickly, but there’s a lot of talent to be had as team’s will attempt to solidify their future. With that being said, let’s take a look at my final 2013 NFL Mock Draft of the season. 1. Kansas City Chiefs Player Name: Luke Joeckel Position, School: OT, Texas ... Read More
Snedden’s Take: Beyond the First Round – Intriguing Steelers Draft Candidates
Over the next few weeks, the NFL Draft will become a hot topic of conversation in town. More so than in any recent year, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be truly “on the clock” – continuing the reformation of their roster with a bounty of young players. The importance of the draft is never lost on this franchise, but 2013 may end up being a draft that lays the backbone of the next great Steelers teams. The Steelers always utilize the Draft as their main source of talent, shrugging off ... Read More
James Harrison, a Cincinnati Steeler
After James Harrison was cut by the Steelers the thought was that the Baltimore Ravens would be a good fit for him moving forward. Staying within the same division is good for players because they already know the other teams so going to the Ravens made sense. Harrison’s agent set up a meeting between Harrison and Baltimore, but before that date came the Ravens had signed Elvis Dumervil. At that point Harrison became a cold commodity on the free agent market and there was some talk about a ... Read More
Is UCLA RB Jonathan Franklin on Steelers’ Radar?
It's no secret that the Pittsburgh Steelers desperately need to address their running back situation. After flirting back-and-forth with the idea of signing free agent Ahmad Bradshaw, there is a good chance that the Steelers could instead elect to use a second-day pick on a back that they hope could become their featured runner for the next several years. If Steelers' general manager Kevin Colbert has his way, that guy would be UCLA's Jonathan Franklin. Despite a disappointing pro day, ... Read More
Steelers 2013 schedule released
After an abysmal season last year, Steelers fans are hoping the team can regroup and put together a good season in 2013. The Steelers will play four games on national television, including a Thanksgiving Day game against their rivals and Super Bowl Champions, the Baltimore Ravens. That game will be on the road in Baltimore and will kickoff at 8:30 pm ET on NBC. This is the very first primetime Thanksgiving Day game for the Steelers in team history. Pittsburgh will also play Cincinnati on ... Read More
Steelers may consider trades in the NFL Draft
Back in February it was apparent that this years NFL Draft would be middle heavy and that trading back and picking up extra picks in the middle rounds would be beneficial. At that time I discussed the value in trading back for the Steelers and still believe that it may be their best option in the first round of the draft. Of course it is hard to say whether or not the Steelers, or any other team, will be able to find trade partners during the draft. Right now teams are probably in talks with ... Read More
Steelers have hosted 21 players for pre-draft visits
Prior to the 2013 NFL draft at the end of this month each team can host 30 players for pre-draft visits. They can also meet with an unlimited number of players on campuses or at NFL sanctioned workouts. So far the Steelers have had 21 prospects in for meetings with the team. Surprisingly, for a team that ranked number on in defense in 2012 and seems to have major needs on offense, the Steelers have met with 17 defensive players compared to only four offensive players. Their visits have been ... Read More
Steelers have Tough Decision to make with Emmanuel Sanders
The Pittsburgh Steelers have until the end of the day Sunday to match the offer sheet for Emmanuel Sanders. Sanders has signed a one year $2.5 million deal with the New England Patriots. If the Steelers choose not to match the offer they will receiver the Patriots third round pick. They will also save about $1.3 million against the cap. The Steelers could also choose to match the offer and pay Sanders $2.5 million for the 2013 season. Due to the Steelers cap issues if they match the offer ... Read More

With that being said, let's not waste any time as the Kansas City Chiefs are on the clock. 1. Kansas City Chiefs Player Name: Luke Joeckel Position, School: OT, Texas A&M After the Alex Smith trade, it is all but certain that the Chiefs get the tackle to help protect him. Joeckel is a guy that could come in and play ... Read More
Three 1st Round Sleepers the Steelers could pick
The 2013 NFL Draft is only fifteen days away and there is still a lot of questions surround the top of the draft. As of now the Pittsburgh Steelers hold the seventeenth pick in the first round of the draft, but they could look to trade up or down depending on the prospects available when they are put on the clock. Based on scouting reports and mock drafts the Steelers are expected, by many, to take Georgia OLB Jarvis Jones, Texas S Kenny Vaccaro, or Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson, but ... Read More
