Recently, Steelers third-round pick Dri Archer out of Kent State has earned rave reviews, as he's drawn comparisons to Jamaal Charles. Archer will have a chance to prove those comparisons, as he's agreed to a deal with the Steelers. The five-foot, eight-inch Archer, who had the fastest 40-yard-dash time at the NFL Combine, accumulated 99 receptions for 1,194 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four years at Kent State. One thing the Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t had in a few years are multiple running backs that can step in and carry a full-time load when needed. The offseason signing of LeGarrette Blount solves that problem. After a nice close to the 2013 season for rookie Le’Veon Bell, the Steelers were in search for a compliment for the Michigan State product and they wanted to find a way to lighten Bell’s workload along the way. They accomplished both with Blount. Blount is still in the prime of his ... Read More
Steelers’ Heath Miller could be in store for rebound season
It was nice to see that Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heath Miller returned last year from a torn ACL suffered the season before. However, something just wasn't right with Miller, as he had a down year by his standards. But the calendar has turned to 2014 and Miller could be in store for another big season. At least in his mind he thinks it will be different: “I should be able to put more preparation in, should be able to work like I’m used to working,” Miller told ESPN's Scott ... Read More
Job Competition Scarce for Steelers at OTA’s
Coming off back-to-back 8-8 seasons, the Pittsburgh Steelers have a much different look than they had just two seasons ago. But with so many new faces now wearing black-and-gold over the course of the past 24 months, that doesn’t necessarily mean that there will be much competition for playing time. As OTA’s began on Tuesday for the Steelers, there were really only three jobs apparent that there would be competition for, which is rare for a team that has missed the playoffs the past couple ... Sure you could've gone back there and checked for life, but hey, you got your own problems. Besides, if you press your ear to your nearest window, you can always hear a breath. Even as deadened and puny as it may be. Because Cleveland always has life. Even when there's no life in Cleveland. But lately the city of can'tpions has ... Read More
