- The Steelers meeting with free agent RB LeGarrette Blount has been moved to this coming Friday. Originally scheduled for this Sunday, the meeting has been pushed back to allow Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and General Manager Kevin Colbert to attend. Both will be attending league meetings this week, forcing the rescheduling. Steelers Sign Lance Moore, Will Visit With LeGarrette Blount
The Pittsburgh Steelers made a significant addition to their depleted wide receiver depth chart today, signing 30-year old WR Lance Moore to a two-year deal. Financial terms have not been immediately disclosed. Moore was released by the New Orleans Saints after spending eight seasons with the team. He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo in 2006, and was due to make $3.8 million in 2014 before becoming a salary cap causality. Moore caught 37 passes for 457 yards and two ... - The Steelers brought back free agent OL Guy Whimper on a one-year, veteran-minimum contract. Whimper’s cap hit will be $635,000. - Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has reported that the Steelers and OLB Jason Worilds have not begun talks yet on a long-term contract extension. - The Steelers signed free agent DT Cam Thomas to a two-year contract. Known by the nickname “Baby Godzilla” during his four-year run with the San Diego Chargers, Thomas is a 330-pound lineman, who has the girth to step in and play NT in the Steelers 3-4 defense.
