The Penguins are well on their way to winning the Metropolitan Division and while the Washington Capitals are 18 points back, it never hurts to create a little more separation. The Penguins didn't exactly play well against the Anaheim Ducks but they did play better than their previous game the night before in San Jose. Despite being out shot 31-17 and showing poor puck management, the Penguins were able to collect a point by forcing overtime, then won in a shootout to secure both points. The Penguins acquired F Lee Stempniak from Calgary for a third-round draft choice at the deadline. It was a trade that was made last-minute after the Vancouver Canucks announced they would not be trading Ryan Kesler earlier today. The Penguins have acquired Marcel Goc from the Florida Panthers in exchange for two draft picks, a fifth round pick this year and a third round pick next year.
