After the first 3:18 of the game, the Penguins looked like they were in trouble. Down 2-0, the second seed in the East was on the ropes against an aggressive Columbus team that fed off a crowd that finally showed up wearing blue and red instead of black and vegas gold. But a goal by Brooks Orpik late in the second period gave Pittsburgh hope, and the Penguins climbed out of a 2-0, then 3-1, deficit with three goals in a span of 2:13 during the third period to defeat the Blue Jackets 4-3 on ... Superstars need to shine, but Malkin is the ‘X’ factor
Barring any setbacks in his recovery, Evgeni Malkin will rejoin the Penguins lineup for Game One against the Columbus Blue Jackets after missing the last 11 games of the season with a foot injury. But just filling a roster spot will not be enough for this Russian superstar. Is it Finals or bust for Dan Bylsma?
The NHL, just like other pro-sports, is a league that is about winning Championships. It’s about succeeding in the “now.” All too often, it seems many teams lose sight of this and hold on to a coach or star player far too long with no reward. So don’t you think it is time for Penguins Management to ask, "What have you done lately Mr. Bylsma?" Since making his coaching debut in 2009, a year which he took over a very defensive minded team brought them back to basics and coached them to a ... Read More
