No team in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference has been as hot as the Waynesburg men’s basketball team as the Yellow Jackets will look to carry the momentum from a strong close of the regular season into the PAC Tournament.
The Yellow Jackets (16-9, 12-4 PAC) finished the season on an eight-game win streak, which was good enough to clinch them the No.2 seed in next week’s PAC Tournament.
Saint Vincent College, the defending two-time PAC champions, earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament, which will take place February 23-28.
The PAC Tournament will kick off on Monday with a play-in game, which features No. 9 seed Washington & Jefferson College traveling to No. 8 seed Westminster College. The winner travels to St. Vincent on Tuesday.
The quarterfinals will begin on Tuesday with Waynesburg hosting No. 7 seed Grove City. Other quarterfinal matchups include: No. 6 seed Geneva College at No. 3 seed Bethany College and No. 5 seed Thiel College heading to No. 4 seed Thomas More.
The semifinal round of the men’s championship tournament is scheduled for Thursday. The higher remaining seeds will host the games.
The PAC championship game is scheduled for Saturday, February 28.
The winner of the 2014-15 PAC Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament receives the league’s automatic bid to this year’s NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
