**This is an official game recap from the Washington Wild Things **
Washington, PA— Shain Stoner’s walk-off single fueled the Washington Wild Things first walk-off 6-5 victory at CONSOL ENERGY PARK and second comeback effort in as many days.
The win over the Frontier Greys gave Washington the four game sweep.
First baseman Mark Samuelson unleashed Washington’s first homerun of the contest, sailing a two-run shot over the outfield wall that scored outfielder Darian Sandford to give the club an early 2-0 lead.
Down by two in the top of the fourth, first baseman Balbino Fuenmayor responded with his team-leading fifth homerun to cut the Things’ advantage to one run.
In the bottom of the same frame, right fielder Stewart Ijames matched the Greys fourth hitter in the order with his fifth homerun on the year to put Washington up 3-1.
Two innings later, catcher Chris Kay jacked a solo bomb to knot the score even, and in the top of the sixth the Greys regained the lead 4-3 by way of Blake Bergeron’s two-run double.
But, just like Saturday night, Washington rallied to tie the game at four when pinch hitter Alex Buccilli hit a sacrifice-fly to plate Ijames who previously doubled.
The Greys added the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth to give the team their 15th win of the season.
Down to their final out, the Things’ tied the game when AJ Nunziato doubled in Ijames for the game-tying run.
