The Frontier League has released the Washington Wild Things 2016 regular season schedule as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 42-54 campaign in 2015.
Washington will begin the season on the road on May 13 at the Gateway Grizzlies, and will begin its home schedule on May 20 for a six-game home stand against the Lake Erie Crushers and defending Frontier League champions, the Traverse City Beach Bums.
The Wild Things will play six scheduled double headers, including back-to-back double headers against the Normal Cornbelters and Gateway Grizzlies on June 27 and 29, respectively, at CONSOL Energy Park.
They will finish the home portion of the 2016 regular season on August 28 against the Joliet Slammers before taking to the road for the final six games of the regular season against the Windy City Thunderbolts and Lake Erie Crushers.
The 2016 Frontier League All-Star break will occur from July 11-14 with the Frontier League All-Star game taking place on Wednesday, July 13 from UC Health Stadium, home of the Florence Freedom.
The 2016 playoffs will begin with the Wild Card game on Tuesday, Sept. 6 and a potential Game 5 of the Championship Series scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 20.
