The first season is now officially in the books for the Steel City Yellow Jackets following a 106-105 loss in the North East Divisional Championship to the Philadelphia Spirit.
Steel City, the top seed, beat the Staten Island Vipers 142-135 on Saturday night to earn a showdown with Philadelphia and the game was back and forth most of the way.
Javis Williams hit the winning shot with 3.2 seconds left for Philadelphia to cap off a 28 point scoring night and pulled down 11 boards. Andre Woodlin had 26 points and Derek Williams added 20.
Lamar Castile led the Yellow Jackets and all scorers with 31 points, had 9 rebounds and played with a visible chip on his shoulder the entire time. Antonio Reddic had 22 points and also pulled in 9 boards. Lawrence Baker had 16 points and 6 boards.
Philadelphia moves on to the regional semifinals in Providence in two weeks and the Yellow Jackets will spend the offseason wishing they had shot better than 59.3% at the line including the last four foul shots of the game to let the Spirit steal it.
