All good things come to an end.
The Steel City Yellow Jackets got their first taste of defeat in franchise history as they fell 111-105 to the visiting Staten Island Vipers Saturday night at CCAC Allegheny.
The Yellow Jackets (7-1) shot an ice cold 27.5% from the three point line, including a meager 13% in the first half.
Free throws were a big difference in this game as Staten Island (1-1) hit on 64% of their attempts while the Yellow Jackets only converted 56%.
Gilmore Cummings and Nick Novak led Steel City with 18 points apiece. Antonio Reddic added 16 points and Gerald Brooks was superb off the bench with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Latif Rivers led all scorers with 31 points for Staten Island. Da’Quan Cook added 29 points and 10 rebounds and Antoine Obery had 22 points and 16 rebounds for the victors.
