Last week we switched things up a bit by giving the Yinzer of the Week to two players but we’re back to the basics here this week. This week’s winner is Pittsburgh Penguins wingman Chris Kunitz.
For the week, the Pens went 3-0 behing Kunitz strong play on the ice. He started off last Saturday with two goals and one assist with a perfect shooting percentage. He kept his hot streak alive going into Monday’s match-up against Tampa Bay and scored another goal on four shot attempts. His biggest game of the week came Thursday night against the Pens in-state rival, Philadelphia. Against the Flyers, he scored two goals on 4 shots and added an assist. His biggest goal of the week came at the end of the game against the Flyers when he slapped in the game winner.
For the week, Kunitz scored five goals and added two assists for a total of seven points. He had a plus/minus rating of 6 for the week, also. Kunitz has scored a goal in five games straight, now for the Pens and for his strong play this past week, he’s our Yinzer of the Week.
