With the Wild Things season well under way, they find themselves teetering back and forth with the top spot in the East Division of the Frontier League. Lately, strong pitching has been the key for Washington, but there’s been one guy on the offensive side of things that has been a huge part of that success.
Third baseman Jovan Rosa has been on a hot streak lately. The Wild Things played five games this week and during that stretch, Rosa has picked up twelve hits including three doubles and a home run, while driving in six runs and crossing the plate five times himself.
Last Sunday the Wild Things finished a postponed game, that ended up lasting nineteen innings, and played another game on top of that. That didn’t seem to affect Rosa one bit. He collectively went 5-7 with a double and two RBIs in the first game. In the second, he went 4-4 with a double and an RBI. On Wednesday, Rosa went 3-5 with an RBI double and a two-run home run in an 8-0 victory.
The Wild Things won two of those three games. Rosa surely had a hand in that, and for that, he’s this week’s Yinzer of the Week.
